Kalyna provides complex and related services at the market of wholesales and retail of petroleum products.
The company operates as a sales provider on the oil-refining market. At present Kalyna sells Ukrtatnafta fuel (a refining company) through its own network of petrol stations. Consequently the petrol stations' visual style complies with the corporate identity of the refining company.
This is an essential step to attract consumers who prefer Ukrtatnafta brand's petrol and recognize its corporate identity. Kalyna also benefits from that as the fuel's refiner takes up the promotion and branding costs.
However, tough competition among operating companies requires additional competitive advantages.
Implementation and active use of smart cards in the payment system is the main innovation introduced by the company. These cards store account information on fuel types and provide consumers with daily or monthly limits for filing. The processor restricts the access to the memory chip, securing the card to the level of bank transactions.
In addition, the companys efforts are focused on complex customers support by means of additional services. These services can be performed in the form of enlargement the network of stores suggesting automobile cosmetics and accessories, alternative fuels and foodstuffs.
Challenge
When searching for additional competitive advantages Kalyna faced the necessity to develop new communication channels with consumers. Since then this idea has become the company's main objective.Result
MID proposed Kalyna a plan for development of the interactive communication channel and its corporate site.
To attract customers we have worked up and implemented a unique interactive processing system. It saves the clients' and the company's time due to customers self-service, which enables them to issue their own invoices and reports over any period.
This processing system allows to integrate the Web services offered by the site with the Oracle database server. It can also use all data from «1C: Enterprise» product.
